My little girl hasn’t had an easy life and as a consequence has been a bit spoilt, so before I met Charlotte I believed she was untrainable. Charlotte, however was confident I was wrong and with patience, understanding and an incredible rapport I saw progress until I can now confidently say not only has my dog been trained but I have too. I can not thank Charlotte enough, I have enormous respect for her and her knowledge and experience and would highly recommend her to anyone. Thank you Charlotte for everything 🙏🏻

Luna has had such a positive experience through the therapy dog training process with Charlotte. Every session has been supportive, well organised and tailored to help both handler and dog feel confident and prepared. Charlotte created such a welcoming environment and provided great dog training advice throughout, making the process enjoyable and encouraging. Luna loved attending each session and it was wonderful to see her confidence grow each week. The professional feedback we received was so positive and really highlighted Luna’s calm nature and suitability for therapy work. We are so proud of Luna and grateful for all of the support and encouragement along the way. Highly recommend to anyone considering therapy dog work with their dog.

I took my puppy Bear along to puppy day care, then again to obedience classes. Charlotte is just gorgeous - so kind and patient with not only the dogs, but the owners too, because we need training just as much as the puppies! Highly recommend her, and have learnt so much. Puppy day care wore my little puppy out and helped with his socialisation too. Looking forward to the next step in his training with Charlotte.

Our 8 week old puppy learned so much from the training sessions she did with Charlotte. We got so many easy to follow tips for taking her out in public and interacting with other dogs which made a big difference. Thank you Charlotte!

Private Dog Trainer Sunshine Coast

Sometimes a group class isn't what you and your dog need.

Private dog training gives Charlotte the opportunity to focus specifically on your dog, the behaviours you’re experiencing and what you would like to achieve.

One-to-one training can be particularly useful when:

  • You have one or two specific problems you’d like to solve

  • Your dog struggles to concentrate around other dogs

  • Behaviour is different at home than it is elsewhere

  • You need help with walking or leash behaviour

  • Your dog is nervous or easily overwhelmed

  • You want personalised dog obedience training

  • You would simply prefer individual support from a professional dog trainer

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all training program, Charlotte can adapt the session to your dog’s temperament, current level of training and the situations you encounter in everyday life.

If you’ve been looking for a private dog trainer on the Sunshine Coast, get in touch and tell us what’s happening with your dog.

What we must remember when we’re training Jack Russells is that they are terriers. And terriers require a leader and consistency with their training. Do you need help training your Jack Russell? Charlotte can help! Get in touch with us today.

In-Home Dog Training Sunshine Coast

Some dog behaviour is best addressed where it actually happens — at home.

Our in-home dog training allows Charlotte to see your dog’s normal environment and work with you on the issues you experience every day.

At-home dog training can be particularly useful for barking, settling, household manners, visitors arriving, jumping, puppy behaviour, nervousness and other behaviours connected with your dog’s home environment.

It can also make training easier for dogs that become distracted, stressed or overwhelmed in unfamiliar environments.

For younger dogs, in-home puppy training can help owners establish good habits early and deal with common puppy challenges before they become established behaviours.

If your problem happens at home, it often makes sense to start the training there.

Charlotte Bryan uses her own Cynetics® techniques in her work. Cynetics® is a new, modern dog and animal training methodology & philosophy.

Dog Behaviour Training Sunshine Coast

Behaviour and obedience aren’t always the same thing. A dog may know how to sit, stay or come when called at home but still struggle when excited, frightened, distracted or overwhelmed.

Dog behaviour training looks at what is driving the behaviour as well as what the dog is doing.

Charlotte works with owners to better understand their dog’s behaviour and develop practical strategies to create positive change.

If you’re looking for a dog behaviour trainer on the Sunshine Coast, we can help with everyday behaviour problems as well as more complex issues that may require a more specialised training approach.

Reactive Dog Training Sunshine Coast

Does your dog bark, lunge, growl, panic or become overwhelmed around other dogs, people or particular environments?

Reactivity can turn something as simple as taking your dog for a walk into an exhausting experience. Charlotte provides specialised help with reactive dogs on the Sunshine Coast and has developed the Reactivity Reset Program for reactive, nervous and fearful dogs.

The program is designed for dogs whose behaviour goes beyond ordinary obedience training and requires a more intensive, individual approach.

Depending on your dog’s behaviour, this may include Charlotte working directly with your dog before guiding you through how to maintain their progress

If you’ve been searching for a reactive dog trainer on the Sunshine Coast, reactive dog training near me or simply need help with a reactive dog, start by telling Charlotte what has been happening.

Dog Leash & Walking Training

Would you like to enjoy walking your dog rather than spending the entire walk being pulled around?

Dog leash training can help develop calmer, more enjoyable walks and better communication between you and your dog.

Charlotte can help with:

  • Pulling on the lead

  • Constant stopping or changing direction

  • Lack of focus

  • Overexcitement on walks

  • Distraction around people or dogs

  • Building loose-leash walking skills

  • Calm behaviour before and during walks

Our dog walking training on the Sunshine Coast focuses on skills that work in the real world — not simply behaviours demonstrated in a quiet training environment.

For some dogs requiring more intensive support, Charlotte’s Reactivity Reset also incorporates a direct walk and train component.

Dog Recall Training Sunshine Coast

A reliable recall is one of the most useful skills you can teach your dog.

Your dog may come perfectly when you’re standing in the kitchen with treats, but things can be very different when there are dogs, smells, people and other distractions nearby.

Recall training gradually develops your dog’s ability to disengage from distractions and respond reliably when called.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or your dog’s recall seems to have disappeared as they’ve grown older, Charlotte can help you work towards a more reliable response.

Dog Barking Training Sunshine Coast

Barking is normal dog behaviour, but excessive or inappropriate barking can become stressful for both the owner and the dog.

The first step is understanding why your dog is barking. Excitement, fear, frustration, boredom, environmental triggers and learned behaviour can all contribute.

Rather than simply trying to stop the noise, Charlotte looks at what is causing the barking and develops an appropriate training plan around your individual dog.

Dog Anxiety & Confidence Training

Nervous and anxious dogs often need a different approach from dogs that are simply overexcited or lacking training.

Forcing an anxious dog into difficult situations can make matters worse.

Charlotte can help owners recognise signs of stress and anxiety, better understand their dog’s responses and build confidence gradually.

If you’re looking for dog anxiety training on the Sunshine Coast, get in touch and tell us about your dog’s behaviour so Charlotte can recommend the most appropriate type of support.

Dog Socialisation Training Sunshine Coast

Socialisation isn’t about making your dog meet as many dogs and people as possible.

Good socialisation is about helping your dog learn to remain calm and confident around the sights, sounds, people, animals and environments they will encounter throughout life.

For many dogs, the goal isn’t to play with every dog they see. It’s being able to notice another dog and continue calmly with you.

Charlotte can help with socialisation, focus around distractions and developing better real-world behaviour.

Dog Obedience Training Sunshine Coast

Basic dog obedience gives you and your dog a common language.

Depending on your needs, training may include skills such as:

  • Sit

  • Stay

  • Recall

  • Leave it

  • Loose-leash walking

  • Focus

  • Settling

  • Waiting calmly

  • Impulse control

  • Responding around distractions

But our goal isn’t simply a dog that performs commands during a training session. We want those skills to become useful in everyday life — at home, on walks and when you’re out enjoying the Sunshine Coast with your dog.

Why Work With Charlotte and Paws, Claws & Tails?

Charlotte Bryan is an internationally qualified Dog Trainer and Behaviourist and the owner of Paws, Claws & Tails on the Sunshine Coast.

Her approach is personalised because no two dogs — or owners — are exactly alike.

Rather than simply running through a list of commands, Charlotte looks at the dog in front of her, what the owner wants to achieve and what is happening in the dog’s everyday environment.

Training is designed to be practical, understandable and useful once Charlotte has gone home.

Whether you need basic dog obedience, behaviour training, leash and walking help or specialised reactive dog training, the aim is the same:

A calmer, more confident dog and an owner who understands how to continue the training.
