Charlotte was so amazing with our puppy Belle. We learnt recall, how to get Belle focused under distraction and developing calm behaviour around people and dogs. This was all in a one hour session. Charlotte was so calm and knowledgeable, we will definitely be having more lessons with her.
- Laura Scherian & Belle,
Sunshine Coast Lightning Netball Player
Charlotte is an exceptional dog trainer, even from our first session our puppy responded so well to her. All the information and training we have received has been so helpful. We would highly recommend Charlotte to anyone wanting a well trained and happy dog
- Jason Huntsman & Mobi
We found Charlotte to be incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We instantly clicked with her and she had plenty of time and patience for us. We have a unique and stubborn breed but Charlotte was able to quickly pinpoint his motivators and had him heading commands in no time! Her knowledge and insight into dog behaviors are exceptional and were helpful in curbing so troublesome traits. We are so glad to have found her and would not hesitate to recommend her to all.
- Andrew Richardson & Olly
Great puppy training school! Family friendly classes. Our puppy loved going to class as did we and the kids! Charlotte really knows her stuff and is really knowledgeable and supportive. We got lots of great help and advice. Would definitely recommend.
- Michelle Saunders & Billy
OMG .. Charlotte is incredible. I have a 4 month old Border Collie and Charlotte has been training her. Charlotte is so kind, caring and passionate about her job and my puppy just loves her. The training is informative and thorough and really works. After only a few sessions, my puppy is toilet trained, she is very responsive to commands and is becoming very socialised. I could not recommend Charlotte highly enough. Her training is of the highest standard.
- Julie Craig & Charli
Charlotte was fantastic. We learnt a lot at puppy training in just 4 weeks. Charlotte is very knowledgeable and experienced and clearly loves dogs. Anyone who gets a new puppy or dog should definitely attend.
- Rochelle Coombs & Chewy

Stick with me. Let me help you train your puppy from the start. Let’s instil good habits right now. And let’s shape the dog you want.

Should I choose group Puppy School or a private puppy consult?
Group Puppy School is best if you want structured classes, socialisation, and learning around other puppies in a small-group environment. What if my puppy has behavioural issues?
Puppy School helps with curbing behaviour issues and undesirable behaviours. However, if your puppy has more specific issues that are easier to address at home, a private consult or a one-on-one session may be more suitable. Behavioural concerns, aggression, bite history, medical issues or significant triggers should be disclosed before training.
What is your cancellation policy?
A least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel a session without cost. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice and no-shows incur a $60 cancellation fee.
Can I reschedule a class?
Rescheduling within 48 hours attracts a $30 rescheduling fee, while rescheduling earlier than 48 hours before the appointment is free. Rescheduled appointments are subject to trainer availability.
What happens if Paws Claws & Tails needs to cancel or postpone a class?
If Paws Claws & Tails needs to cancel or postpone a session because of illness, weather or an emergency, you will be notified as early as possible and we’ll reschedule at no cost or you request a refund for the affected session only.
Are children allowed to attend Puppy School?
Children present during sessions must be supervised at all times and should not disrupt the class.
Does my puppy need to be fully vaccinated before attending?
Your puppy will need to meet our vaccination requirements before attending Puppy School. If you are unsure whether your puppy is ready to start, please contact us before booking or check with your vet.
What vaccinations are required?
Please contact us before booking if you are unsure about your puppy’s vaccination status. We can let you know what is required for the class you are joining.
What happens if my puppy is older than 15 weeks?
Our group Puppy School is for puppies under 15 weeks at the time the course starts. If your puppy is older, please contact us and we can recommend the most suitable option, such as a private puppy consult or another training service.
Can more than one family member attend?
Yes, family involvement can be helpful, but please check with us before attending so we can manage numbers and keep the class environment calm and safe.
What if my puppy is nervous or shy?
Puppy School can help build confidence, but if your puppy is extremely fearful, overwhelmed, or struggling in new environments, we may recommend a private consult first.

These are common puppy behaviours and Puppy School can help with impulse control, focus, settling and better habits. If the behaviour is intense or difficult to manage in a group setting, a private consult may be recommended.
Can reactive or aggressive puppies attend?
Please contact us before booking if your puppy has shown aggression, serious fear, lunging, or a bite history.
What happens if we miss a class?

Is the course suitable before my puppy goes to dog parks or busy public places?
Yes. Puppy School is designed to help you build socialisation, confidence, focus and safe foundations before your puppy is exposed to more distracting real-world environments.
Do puppies get to play with each other during class?
Our classes focus on safe, structured learning and appropriate socialisation. Puppy interaction is managed carefully so puppies learn confidence, calm behaviour and focus rather than uncontrolled play.
What kind of treats should I bring?
Bring small, soft, high-value treats your puppy enjoys. They should be easy to chew quickly so your puppy can keep learning without getting distracted.
Should my puppy eat before class?
It is best not to feed your puppy a large meal immediately before class. A slightly hungry puppy is often more motivated by treats and better able to focus.
What equipment should I avoid bringing?
Please do not bring aversive equipment such as choke chains, prong collars or shock collars. We use humane, non-aversive training methods.
Is there parking at each location?
Parking details vary by location. Please check your booking confirmation or contact us if you are unsure where to park.

Classes are generally held at community hall locations, but please check your booking details for the specific setup at your chosen location.

Do you provide support after the 4-week course?
Puppy School includes online resources and email help between classes. If you need further support after the course, we also offer private puppy consults and other puppy services.
What happens after Puppy School?
